Imprisoned for a crime they didn't commit. Torn from the only thing that mattered: each other. And, to reunite them, it would take their greatest strengths: love and courage. Starring multiple Emmy Award-winner Tyne Daly (Cagney & Lacey, Judging Amy), Gerald McRaney (Major Dad) and Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) in an early role, Scattered Dreams is the powerful, heart-warming drama that tells the true story of a family's fight to prove its innocence when it is ripped apart by a cruel and wrongful accusation. As illiterate tenant farmers working in 1950s Florida, 'Kitty' and George Messenger (Tyne Daly and Gerald McRaney) and their five children, including daughter Phyllis (Alicia Silverstone), survive only through their happiness in being together and their dreams for a brighter future. That happiness is shattered, however, when Kitty and George are wrongly arrested by the evil local sheriff for a bad debt and sentenced to long terms in labour camps. With their children on the run or placed in grim juvenile homes, Kitty and George's only hope of overcoming their nightmare and reuniting their scattered family is pinned on Kitty's considerable courage. It is a courage that will be stretched to the limit - but it is the Messengers' only hope of finding both justice and a lasting happiness against seemingly insurmountable odds.Scattered Dreams is written by Karen Croner, who scripted the 1998 film One True Thing, starring Meryl Streep and Renee Zellweger. It is directed by Neema Barnette (Better off Dead), who won both the Audience and Special Jury awards at the Urban World Film Festival for Civil Brand.Special Features:BiographiesFilm background
